Game Review (written by Revenile) Added on: 12/10/2006
The wizard turns himself into an owl and goes to defeat the evil that has begun to plague the land. That is the story of the Amiga classic "Agony."
You play as the owl, fighting your way across six beautifully done 2-d side scrolling levels, each with a unique boss at the end.
Graphics: The graphics are a sight to behold, even by today's rough standards. The sprites for the characters are amazingly detailed and well animated, and a heck of a variety. The backgrounds that pass by as each level are equally as beautiful and if the player isn't careful, he/she will end up staring at the backgrounds and not pay attention to the intense, yet well managed action on screen.

is unique and all look stunning. The loading scenes have a sort of painted feel to them, making them a pleasure to stare at. The graphics of this game get a well earned 9, the yellow pellets that the enemy shoot at you could have been something better, that's the only thing holding the graphics back from a 10.
I'll start with the sound effects. The sounds that are heard throughout the game, though there are a few, are really decent and are the type where the player doesn't get tired of them after ten minutes, even if they are simple in nature. The music is a different story. Complex, and well done as well, the music is possibly one of the best aspects of the game, the songs heard in the game give each level mood, from a stormy sea to a burning wasteland. The sound gets a 9.
Game-play: This game starts out in a medium difficulty, and goes to hard by about level four, which is ok, because this is one of those games the player will want to play for hours to get better, not so much to see the ending, but just for the thrill of beating it. The game uses a joystick and a keyboard to play. The keyboard is used for sounds, and for those who must... cheat. The stick (or pad in some cases) is used to move the owl around screen, and the main button is used to shoot your pellets. The game has protective spells like invincibility and fireballs, and also has two collectable swords in the game that follow you on the top and bottom of the screen, that nearly instantly kill anything they touch. 10 go to the game-play.
So where does this lead us. The overall game gets a 9.5, because it really is a great game, and is absolutely one to check out.

I remember buying this game when it came out. I always liked playing t, but never finished it, though the game play and graphics were as good as anything going at the that time. loved it and still do now.
