Game Review (written by Kid_dj1838) Added on: 02/21/2007
A classic brick breaker style game Arkanoid is probably the most fun Amiga game by Taito it started as an arcade game developed in 1986. The game is simple yet with a small storyline attached (most people really don't follow it). You must control a ship called the Vaus and you use the Vaus to keep the ball from falling away you use the Vaus as a pad to keep the ball up.
The ball then most hit bricks at the top of the screen there are various ways to speed up the ball or slow it down.

in each level. When you go to the next stage it will have a different pattern there are also blocks such as enemy ships and some bricks having to be hit more than once. At the final stage you fight the final boss Doh.
In game play you have three reserve ships and three continues but on the last level your continues are taken away and all you have is what’s left in your reserve. And like I said before the game has blocks but every cloud has a sliver lining for this cloud its power-ups these include expanding your Vaus , multiply the number of balls , equip a laser cannon , break directly to the next level.
The games graphics don't take advantage of the Amiga's graphics but mostly because its one of the earliest games for the system. The background attempts to show at a distant 3-D wall, the bricks are mostly rainbows, and the ship is black with red sides and some reflection effects. Overall the game is very fun and I highly recommend you download it.
