Gods is a very interesting game. I played it back in the day before microsoft and windows was discovered. There are levels which you have to pass and of course back then it was much easier to play with a joystick. The good old consoles are gone now replaced by other machines which connect to the internet allowing you to play live games in the comfort of your homes. Don’t get me wrong they are quite wonderful, but amiga mannnn, that’s good stuff. Commodore sixty four, nintendo, that’s the stuff that I remember.
Once people are addicted to such games it’s in them for life.
But anyway, back to the game, it’s about a 'hercules' type character which is totally destructible, and he has to complete certain tasks and extras to pass a level. The setting is quite ancient greek slash roman style and it’s an old type of role playing game. The interesting part about this character is that he has a helmet on which covers his identity and the bosses he has to defeat are also the same as you would encounter when reading stories on ancient greek slash roman mythology.
The mosaics and graphics of the game captivated me when I was younger and somewhat ten years later the game still lives on inside my
memory. The imaging and color use is quite authentic along with the quests and levels. The backdrop is also quite authentic I wonder how much work was put into this game.
You start out with three lives and can collect extra on the way, besides the good old fighting tasks there are also mosaic puzzles and other things which makes the game dynamic and memorable.
There are few games I ever go back to play, it is not often I go out of my way to hunt down games from my childhood, but let me tell you it was definitely worth it for this one. If you like games such as final fantasy, or simple ones like mario bros, kirbys dreamland you will definitely like gods. Bitmap brother have done such good imaging and storyline, the only complaint I would have is that the game itself is way too short. Perhaps they should have made a sequel. People who enjoy history and adventure would like this game, it is suitable for all ages and gender. Too bad they don’t make anything similar anymore, the only god games available these days are the ones where you are actually playing god yourself.
