Gunship 2000 AGA - One of the first and one of the most fun flight simulator games of its time. The game offers nice graphics and sound. Choose from either a quick battle or enter a Campaign and advance through the ranks to become the top dog of the wing. The game controls are fairly simple to learn. You'll need to keep an eye on the gauges and watch your altitude to be successful. Fly low and slow to avoid enemy SAMS. Be prepared to launch countermeasures to avoid the rocketfire.

Adding to the realism of the game is the limited ammo and fuel. You'll need to keep an eye on your weapons and fuel tanks and be prepared to return to base to re-arm
and re-fuel. The game rewards the pilot who uses their head and doesn't dive headlong into a hornets nest.
This game was one of the first and one of my most favorite helicopter simulators. You don't need a Phd to master the flight controls. The graphics and sound were excellent for the time period. Both the Amiga and PC versions of this game proved to be very stable and performed well (I played both). Gunship 2000 helped give rise to even more advanced simulators such as Comanche. Many followed, but Gunship 2000 is still loads of fun to play. Watch those gauges, stay low and check your 6!
