Game Review (written by Courts87) Added on: 04/24/2007
Lemmings 2: The Tribes is a pretty decent sequel to the original Lemmings. Similarly structured to the original game, it is your job to ensure that the follow-the leader lemmings do not meet an untimely death, as they struggle to get through to the end of each level. There are a certain number of lemmings for each round, and each lemming has a different skill (you have a varying number of each type of lemming) There are 51 skills available throughout the game, but only 8 available per round.

Unlike the original lemmings, this one actually has a plot, and the lemmings are split up into tribes. The number of skills available only seemed to complicate things for me, and made it far more difficult for me to get a good grasp of what each skill did, and how it would benefit me. Although, these 51 skills made the gameplay difficult at first, once I got into it, I found it quite fun and challenging game. I enjoyed almost all of the levels. Furthermore, the new set-up of the game, where the 120 levels were divided amongst the twelve tribes- proved to be very fun and whimsical, once I got the hang of the idea of Lemmings with a plot. Each tribe had a few skills

that were consistent with the tribe, and had different music, and different dances (for the attractor lemming, which causes other lemmings to stop and dance). Furthermore, there were different backgrounds (themed), and occasionally there was a change in the lemmings.
I highly recommend it to any fan of the Lemmings, because it simply takes the original idea, and runs with it, adding more complications and gives a player a lot of fun.
