Game Review (written by Mrgogo) Added on: 05/03/2007
This is the original version of Lords of the Realm. First published in 1996 by IMPRESSION studios on the Amiga. The game was later ported to the PC and this is the version that most players are familiar with. This is an excellent version of the game sporting almost identical graphics to the PC version. The Amiga version of Lords of the Realms sports has a much better soundtrack than the PC version, thanks to the enhanced sound capabilities of the Amiga. The gameplay is almost entirely identical to the PC version.

production and trade. Then wage war against your neighboring countries and conquer them.
There are diplomatic aspects to the game, while the AI leaves a little bit to be desired in that no matter what you do in the end everyone will attack you.
The game boasts hot seat gameplay and head to head play by modem or null modem connection. Unfortunately the PC and Amiga version are not compatible in this respect.
While many people will be tempted to build grand castles the truth is they really aren't needed. In fact, having one can hinder your progress in the game, because it takes so long to raise the funds needed to build a castle and on top of that it is next to impossible to gather enough resources to build one without buying all the supplies.
A final warning about the geography of the land. Certain regions have clear advantages as there are only one way in which makes defending them from intruders that much easier. Not that it makes a difference all that much, but defending against one neighboor is easier then too.
