Game Review (written by Unclevladimir) Added on: 12/03/2006
Pinball Dreams was one of the first games in its class on the Amiga. In 1992, everybody marveled when this excellent game was released, nobody thought that pinball was possible, that the coding would be revolutionary and extremely hard to write. But despite all this, the guys at Digital Illusions and 21st Century Entertainment had a crack at it and delivered some astounding results.
Pinball Dreams still has the potential to rival new pinball games of today. With it's addictive gameplay, excellent soundtrack and damn good graphics to boot, it could have you and your friends hooked for hours on end.

With four tables, each one with their own unique style and secret missions I am sure you can find a table you like.
Table 1:

Ignition
You are a space explorer and must build your ship up from scratch, refuel it and go on missions to the stars to gain bonus points as you try to keep your nerve, make sure you do not crash and burn trying.
Table 2: Steel Wheel
Ride through the Wild West, on your train as you collect passengers, cargo and large amounts of cash. The rewards are great and even greater reward bonuses. Just try not to derail yourself due to carelessness or broken tracks.
Table 3: Beat Box
Go from rags to riches as you sing your way to the top. Rise through the ranks of the European or American charts or if you’re feeling lucky, become the best in the world as you release your music onto the world becoming a god in the music business. Just try not to lose your voice and your career.
Table 4: Nightmare
Are you afraid of the dark? Can you last til' midnight without being scared stiff? Try to keep you cool as you try to discover the truth of the graveyard, just don’t get too scared because once you come into the nightmare, you may not be able to leave.
All these tables come with stunning graphics, excellent sound effects and a unique gameplay that could keep you hooked for hours. Digital Illusions really did a good job on this game, bringing together a gaming first, a pinball game with all the fun of a real table, without having the painful feeling in your wallet. This game is a timeless classic and will never loose its appeal for hardcore pinball action.

Pinball Dreams was my first experience with pinball as a kid, and it stayed more than just a game in my memory. It signifies a certain era in my life, and I can still remember very clearly how fascinated I was by it. The design and the music is still very much alive in my head even though i forgot after all those years how it exactly looks. But one of the four tables, pinball nightmare, was not to be forgotten. For me it still symbolizes a unique virtual adventure. My all time favorite!

21st Century's first pinball game for the PC. An almost exact port of the Amiga version, it has four tables, covering themes such as the wild west, space rockets, a haunted churchyard and pop music.
