From opening the packaging and inserting the game into your Amiga – the anticipation is immense. Once the game loads up, we are given a simple menu system of which it is very quick to get going – so many football games take forever going through menu systems. The game delivers once again simple graphics but at the same time you don’t want them to be any different. The game play is very, very fast and this keeps you completely immersed.

The game delivers once again simple graphics but at the same time you don’t want them to be any different. The game play is very, very fast and this keeps you completely immersed. Simple quick passing, a long ball and a flying header will make your day. The ability to run off the ball can be quite frustrating at first but once you are used to this it makes this a different football game playing experience, and
you realize that this is one of the finer trade marks of sensible soccer.
Check out the Star players. These special players have the ability to hold onto to the ball so it is possible to keep the ball when you are weaving in and out. One of the best features is of the star players is they have an excellent shot, if you are in the right place then you can shoot from the half way line, and watch in owe as it flies straight into the right or left hand corner of the goal. A peach you will shout!
The in-game music is quite annoying to say the least so turning this off, and listening to the crowd noise is much more entertaining, I find it also helps you concentrate as well. There are 3 cups you can play for or you can join the league. You join the league at the bottom of the 4th division and then you have to work your way up. There is a choice of International Teams or League Teams. It is definitely a challenge picking the lower division teams and promoting them all the way up to the 1st division.
Super Nintendo also released a version of this game which I found extremely enjoyable. It was a little easier to play on the SNES, probably because of the SNES controller, but it is truly worth while.
Hours and hours of fun, 2 player games are the best, they are clean, fast, simple, and very addictive. One of the best games ever developed and I am truly grateful for the hours it has eaten of my life. I’d give this game 9/10. I think it’s brilliant!
