I remember when I was growing up. Every Christmas since I can remember, I had always asked for a computer. Well, it was 1990, and I was lucky enough to have received a Commodore 64. I collected many games, but I was always in need of a good flying / dog-fight action game. When I first had this game in my hands, it felt different. I knew I'd be playing it a whole lot!
Aces over every other C64 game I used to play on my first computer! I remember how stoked I'd get over breaking out my joystick pad with the top "thumb" button and the single base button, and blasting away at all of the bogies.

I could compare this game to other C64 rivals,
like Top Gun, but the graphics, ease (and addictiveness) of gameplay, packaged with the feeling that I get from playing this game, really make it far above the bar of comparison. The colour scheme of the graphics is great, giving it (bear with me please) a more "real-to-life" feel, utilizing the ideas of texture and shading that traditional (early) c64 games had been lacking.
Another thing to mention is that I couldn't remember ever beating the game... which leaves it to still be a challenge of mine today. Also I don't recall this game ever being 2 player. It would have been a lot neater to have gotten involved with some modem- utilized netplay, maybe through QLink or something else Commodore 64 users were optionally logging onto.
Other than only glitching on me once, I can't remember ever having problems with it. I think the disk drive was probably dirty, and couldn't read the program. Since the rise of PC, I had abandoned my old c64 to my parent's garage; of course they've sold it in a yard sale, along with all of the old games I used to have with it! This was a major bum-out! Until now, I couldn't imagine being able to play it again!
These comments are my own opinion, and I urge you to take into consideration that since the heyday of the Commodore 64, many other classic war-plane style games have been developed, and I do not consider this game to be any better than most of the newer ones. I simply believe that, from the relic of memory, this game had some of the best graphics and easiest gameplay for the specific C64 platform.
