This is not just a great game; it is an utterly magnificent and thoroughly spectacular experience in its own right. In 1985 I was a regular devotee of this game, as many of us were back then, especially those of us who had homework to do! This game, along with «Below the Root», another artful game also by Windham Classics, was truly ahead of their time. "Alice in Wonderland" is as challenging for adults as it is for 10 year olds. The flow through the environment is good (entirely joystick/menu driven), the puzzles and interaction with characters is creative, and the sense of achievement when one finally finishes is great.

that is a work of art partly because of its simplicity. True C-64 poetry.
Although linear by design (e.g. Alice must grow tall to get the key which is on the table and then she must grow small by drinking the elixir in order to enter the small door) this game was so much more engaging than the other adventure games that were available at the time. The way this game affected my life simply astounds me, I know I am not alone. It truly is a haunting game, and I just hope that I can get this to work on my PC . . . otherwise I'll be cobbling together a C-64 just so that my own daughter can enjoy these games (and a few of the C-64 educational games) as she grows up!
I don't mind saying that I thought that I was rather good at this game. Fie on those who never got past the Dodo! ... and yet... I never got through the entire game myself! I kept getting stuck trying to find the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. So I wrote to Windham Classics for help and they sent me the cheat sheets (a series of step by step instructions for how to complete the game). Alas, I STILL wasn't able to complete the game. And so now, at last, I will play Alice again, and this time, I will win! Thankfully, I no longer know the whereabouts of that cheat sheet and must test my own time-addled wits.
Hints: The game follows the book quite closely, so read the book, and then play the game. Watch the song lyrics carefully. Don't expect to solve the game in just a few days unless you are a super-genius
