Battle Chess, I remember playing this game all during my youth. Battle Chess is an awesome game to those who are beginners and to even those that are advanced. Battle Chess is played the same as any other chess game but the chess pieces actually animate and move about. The battles are which make this game so unique and one of a kind, Even in this day in age with all of the graphics on brand new computers, I could still go back to this classic and have as much fun as I did when I was a kid.
Most of the battles will have you cracking up one way or another, such as the battle between the two pawns. The one pawn hits the foot of the other as he hops around in pain the first pawn nails him in the head. It’s fun classic. Every battle scene within Battle Chess is unique to that of a different piece. Example a pawn vs. pawn, pawn vs. knight, pawn vs. rook…
The way it works is you first click on the piece you wish to move, and then you can only move it has far as the highlighted box. Through repetition much like anything else you start to pick up on what pieces do what. Within a few games you
will already be catching on by this point and can start to focus your energy on strategy which is the most important part of chess. There is no time limit in this game and the computer doesn’t take to long to make its moves so it is a game that completely revolves around you. So if you need take as much time as you would like - it’s ok.
This game is also educational too. It does teach you the basics of chess but does so in such a fun and unique way. I would recommend this game to any parent who wishes to teach their son/daughter the rules of chess or for just those that want to gain an overall FUN chess experience. I believe that everyone should at least give this game a chance, play a few games before judging it. To advanced chess players it may be a little slow for your likening but be patient and take it for what it is, enjoy the comedy of it and overall have a good time.
I never thought I would have been able to find this game ever since I lost it, but thanks to this site I can once again be reunited with this game. Thank you again.
You can also play in 2D without animation. Multi-player support can be extended to modem and/or serial port play.
