Frog 64 is a great arcade game where you will be taking the role of a frog. You will be attempting to guide the frog to their homes. You will be required to travel across a lane way that is filled with cars or travel through a river that is full of obstacles. There are additional bonuses throughout each level, but they can be risky to get.
At the beginning of the game you will start off with three frogs. You will then begin guiding one of the frogs across the screen going from the bottom to the top.
On the bottom of the screen you will have a road with vehicles as your obstacle. Some of the obstacles can be cars, trucks, buses, taxis, and even motorcycles that are traveling far much faster then the other vehicles. When you have accomplished the bottom half of the screen you will then reach the upper half. On the top half you will encounter a river that has objects such as logs and turtles, these will assist you in getting across the river. You will attempt to avoid alligators, snakes and otters, which will kill you. Once you have reached the other side of the river you will be able to place your frog in one of the frog homes. You will be timed
for the games, so you will not have time to just sit there and strategize, you must try going the fastest you can without dying.
Throughout the game there are many ways that you will loose a turn. The game definitely has more ways of loosing then most video games invented. Some of the ways that you can loose your life is by getting hit by traffic, get carried off screen by a log or turtle, runs out of time, and many more. There are so many ways to loose your turn, so take your time to the extent that you can.
The graphical design with the game has been done with a bit of artistic detail. The game is quite colorful and fun. The game design is typical to the arcade period, but it does have enough appeal to make the game very enjoyable. Frog 64 is not too difficult of a game. Once you begin progressing along in the game you will find the levels to become a little more difficult, but the game is playable by all ages. Overall the game is very simple and fun.
