Giana Sisters is a great action adventure game that is one of the classics with females as the main characters which was out of the ordinary for many Commodore 64 games.
You will be traveling through levels collecting stars, which required you to run over them, or hitting the head on certain goody boxes. The goody boxes can contain special items with many different features giving you some special items. The special items made it that you were not always having to jump on the enemies, instead you could do some things like shoot them or break their skulls with bricks.
The graphics that have been incorporated into the game have been done great and with bright colors! The backgrounds alone are phenomenal. Then the characteristics to all the characters, it is just so amazing. The animation that is in the game isn’t choppy it is nice and smooth. Everything about the graphical design in this game is over the top, putting this game into a new bracket of amazing.
Giana Sisters is a very thrilling and quite challenging game that does take a lot of patience to play. The game isn’t too difficult for players, but the amount of stars you must collect and the enemies you are required to look out for do give this game that challenging feel it needs. There are a large
amount of hidden treasures and the gradual increase in difficult per level does make this game very thrilling for any player.
Giana Sisters would have been a great addition to the gaming world. It is sad that the creators of Mario Brothers put a stop to this game because it could have benefited them as well. I agree, I would have preferred playing this game over Mario Brothers for the period of time, but everyone needs that little variation in games now and again. The resemblance of the games did turn the fate for this game, knowing it could have gone far and probably had as many sequels as Mario Brothers has over the years.
The game has become a phenomenal and is by far one of the best games anyone could ever attempt. There are so many things that aren’t expected you’ll be excited the entire time you play. Giana Sisters is so well designed graphically and game play wise Mario Brothers was smart to get worried because this game could have probably put a damper on their success. If you love action adventure games that are very thrilling and just over the top fun, I surely recommend Giana Sisters be added to your collection.
