I absolutely love this wonderful game with great graphics and good story line! When you enter the game you start as the Hunchback. Your form is distorted so that you can see the obvious hump on your back. You come down from the tower to help save the lovely princess because she has been captured by the evil king. This is where the game begins. As the Hunchback you try to scale the defenses of the enemy so that you can reach your ultimate goal of rescuing the princess.
Since you now know the story, I will walk you through some of the aspects of game play. Hunchback can be easily placed in the category of side scrolling arcade action games. As you advance through the game you come across obstacles that you must defeat to get to the princess. These obstacles are fairly numerous and remarkably difficult the first time around. In order to reach the princess you have to swing across moats avoid the arrows of the tower archers, try not to get speared by the guards, and ultimately make it unharmed to the side of the princess.
Overall, this is one of my favorite games of all time. The difficulty and story line keep me coming back to
this game, even after playing games like Halo. Hunchback is one of the classics that will only get better with age. I would recommend this game to anyone who wants a little side scrolling action of the C64 variety. I hope you enjoy the game.
