Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 12/31/2007
Medieval simulation games have become great numbers in the world of gaming. The next game that would be a great addition to your collection would happen to be Kaiser, which is also known as Emperor when translated.
The game has a superb multiplayer mode allowing you to have up to ten opponents playing, either being computer or human ran players. You will all be competing against each other attempting to have the better empire then the others.
Kaiser has many features included into the game play itself.
As the emperor of your town you will be required to keep your population up. To do this you must ensure you have enough food supply, which you will collect, in your mills. If there is not enough grain to be distributed between your population they will start to die off and your empire will become non-existent.
The game not only includes the development of your empire, you will also be trying to keep your crime rates down, and several disasters may occur. This allows you to get that added feel of realism on what would occur in your actual empire if you were to have one of your own.
It is very wise to keep up on your grain mills and marketplaces. These are mandatory
Kaiser
to keep your economy strength up in your state. Once you’ve determined the strategy behind keeping things to par the game will become a bit less complicated.
When it comes to the combat mode will be done in a role-playing mode. Each player will be given a cube; the attacker will have a cube covered in A’s, and the defender with V pages. Depending on the greater number and strength of attack will differ from the winner of the combat.
The whole goal of the game is to become the crowned emperor becoming the most powerful hierarchy in the entire game. This could take a fair amount of time to do, but the entire game play is so entrancing that you will never give up on the defeat of your opponents. You will be scored on the number of inhabitants in your empire, your country, the number of mills and markets you have, your fame, and the strength of your army which will all be calculated together to give you your final score.
Kaiser is a very in depth format of a game. There is so much to the decision-making and capabilities in the game that make it completely endless with possibilities. It is a phenomenally multiplayer game that many skill levels could enjoy. If you want to experience another version of a medieval economic simulation, then Kaiser would be the best selection you’ve made.
