Kickstart 2

Genre: Racing    |     Year: 1987    |     Publisher: Mastertronic Group Ltd.    |     Developer: (unknown)
Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 12/31/2007
If you are sick of all the shooting games and want to take on a bike racing videogame, then you will love Kick-Start 2. As the player you will take control of a bike taking on several courses that are filled with many different obstacles. To control your bike you will need to accelerate, brake, do some great tricks such as hopping and wheelies. While controlling your bike you will manoeuvre around the several obstacles like the ramps, gates, and even telephone boxes.
When it comes to the obstacles there are many different ways you will have to approach them in different ways.
When you come up to a fence or wooden beams you will need to take them on at a slower speed. You donít want to hop onto them or fall onto them because you will crash.
There is the chance that you will make some landings at a bad angle making it that you fall off an obstacle, be thrown forward, or taking a time penalty. The time penalty can be quite frustrating since it will place you on the next upcoming flat surface, which is considered safe for you to begin racing again.
The game can be played on your own, with another player or against the computer allowing you endless competitive fun. You will be competing against your opponent in your usual race, or by the

calculation of your finishing times. Each course is split into five different sets giving you a better chance at winning.
Kick-Start 2 has a great built-in course designer that will allow you to make several changes to your favourite courses. You will also be able to design an entire track on your own. To do this you will be given a blank canvas and many obstacles to place onto the course. This is a great feature especially if you find yourself getting tired of all the gameís original courses.
If you want to take on a great bike-racing classic and are tired of the usual car racing games, then Kick-Start 2 is a wondrous selection. Even if you didnít enjoy the original Kick-Start you will find yourself loving this one. There is so much more to the game that will have you hooked in no time.
Racing games have always been one of the most popular games next to your usual shooter games. With the ability to take on other opponents and create your own courses you definitely know this game is endless with possibilities. In 1987 the world was blessed with the creation of this game, and has been enjoyed by millions since Mastertronic Ltd placed the game into the world of gaming.
