Monopoly Deluxe is a much better version of the older Monopoly game, offering much better graphics (by better I mean more realistic - i.e. resembling the Monopoly board) and a better engine overall. The aim of the game is still as simple as before: roll the dice, move round the board. If you land on a street or station or utility, you may purchase it. If you land on a street or station or utility that someone else has purchased, you must pay them rent - this is proportional to the cost of the place in question.
Unfortunately, unlike in real life you cannot form teams with the pc or agree to pay it back later. The main aim of the game is to come out rich and bankrupt everyone else - while remaining out of the gutter you!
Monopoly Deluxe can offer you hours of enjoyment but remember, each game can take a long time and it can become tedious after a while. Thankfully the annoying sounds that have been present during most other dos games of the time have been kept to a minimum. To keep this fun game I would recommend it in small doses - and also make sure you have hours of spare time. When the came has steamed and there’s only a couple of tycoons
left sometimes the game will seem as if though it will never end.
If you enjoy this game, do remember that it is comparable to chess. Of course, monopoly offers more diversity and choice than chess. The fact that you have a say in your property - and that you effectively build up a commercial empire - is amazing. Also, the size of this game file is less that a megabyte so it's well worth the time.
Unfortunately there isn’t good monopoly games produced over he last decade or so. In fact, this is probably the most worthwhile monopoly game out there - and remember, it's free!
The only think about the game is that it can seem band after a while. The lack of real sound and real opposition in the game can get annoying. I'm going to have to give this game 7 out of 10 because it achieved what it wanted to.
