There are many different racing simulations that have been designed over the years, but there is one that sticks out in my mind more then most. This would happen to be, Racing Destruction Set. The game is car-racing simulation where you will be able to play on your own or with another player using the lovely joysticks.
The players can depict their car out from the other just by the color used on the car. First player will be in control over the red car, which appears on the top of the screen, and the second player will be in control of the yellow car, which appears, on the bottom of the screen.

There are many great features to this game that made it into
the true classic that it has become today. The game had the option for the players to create their own racing tracks. You will select your template from a variety of templates and then begin placing ramps and change the elevations throughout the entire track. There were many different terrains to select from, some having slippery ice throughout the track and others being perfectly normal. There are a total of fifty different tracks built into the game, so there is definitely a large amount of game play. There were also many customization features that the player was able to do to their car. Some of these changes can range from the tires being changed all the way to an entirely new engine. Some of the cars that have been used in the game were a Can-Am sports car, a Jeep, the Lunar Rover, dirt bikes, Baja bugs, and many more. Each had different aspects to it that made it perform better then others.
When it comes to the overall game play the gamers will have a selection from two options on how they would like to play the game. They can either play in racing mode, which is where they will be competing against each other attempting to get first place in timing. This doesn’t normally occur in racing games, it normally matters on who gets to the finishing line first, but this feature allows you to get a better racing time and get second in the final lap and still win. Then there is the destruction mode, which can be quite interesting. In this mode you will be able to place hazards for your opponent to hit and stop your opponent in their tracks.
The graphics are in your basic isometric arcade format which does not give the game phenomenal graphical appeal, but it does allow the player to understand what they are suppose to be watching. The game didn’t require over the top graphics especially for the years of creation.
Even though there are hundreds of racing games out in circulation over the many years, Racing Destruction Set will still having you wanting more. With the game having an editor simulation included into the game this allows you to customize the game to your skill level and what you want to attempt. This allows the game to be a lot more fun and pretty crazy at times. Racing Destruction Set will surely have any new and old gamer playing no matter how basic the graphics are.
