Bub and Bob are back in form as a new threat has arisen. This is the sequel to Bubble Bobble the classic. Originally Bub and Bob had their sweet hearts kidnapped as you do! And to save the day you had to bubble-capture the villains and save the day.
In this sequel the devil has taken a whole set of islands hostage and its up to Bub and Bob to save the day - again. You have to use the power of the rainbow to shine your way to the top of each level.
The play is simplistic and fun. Just move yourself to the top. But it can never be as easy with horrible insects getting in your way. It’s left to you to destroy the colourful baddies. The most difficult aspect is the timer - as you run out of time the insects increase their zest and speed to kill you! Use the rainbow attack and rainbow crash to defeat your arch enemy.
There are seven worlds as well as a bonus one, too. The best part of this game is to destroy the big bad boss at the end of each level. As with most amiga games the end of level boss - is what is worth killing. The boss is always ten time your size with
enough testosterone to power a nuclear reactor. But the power of good must prevail and nothing kills the baddie as does a rainbow.
As the play is simplistic both children and old age amiga pensioners still enjoy this game. I like the coin up touch where you add coins at the beginning to give you additional continues. It would have been amazing had this version created a two player mode but unfortunately I was left out. The strength in the first outing was the two player mode. So if you want to travel sky high defeating the forces of evil - this is the game for you! So if you want a game that your children can play without attaining violent tendencies then this is the game for you. Most games today are too complex too play with younger children but not this one - it'll keen both adults and children occupied for hours on end. Find your fortune at the end of Rainbow Island by defeating the end boss which is neigh impossible to do - unless you can cheat.
I recommend this game for all ages especially the younger ones as these types of games are not available on the market. Fun, simple, addictive 8 out of 10.
