Shinobi has been a great series to play over the years; a new addition to this series would be the wonderful Shadow Dancer. During the game you will take the role of several characters. There isn’t too much in game storyline that has been included into the game.
Shadow Dancer is quite similar to the previous Shinobi games. With this game there has been the inclusion of a dog, which will assist you during attacks. The dog will attack when it feels the need too.
The dog is a great distraction for yourself to do some crazy intense move on your opponent. The dog is able to get hurt and when it does it will shrink into the size of a puppy unable to attack until you get a power up. You are also unable to summon the dog when you are standing up, so ensure you try this when you are down but do it when it’s safe too.
Throughout the levels there have been bombs scattered around awaiting you to disarm them. Once you have disarmed the certain amount of required bombs you will then take on the boss of that level. Your weapons that you will have to utilize are an unlimited supply of
throwing stars, and your own body contact such as kicking and punching. There is a great thing known as ninja magic as well; this can only be used once per level so utilize it when necessary. There is five missions that you will be taking part in. Each of these missions has a different objective for you to take part in. Some of the objectives consist of raiding your enemy’s industrial unit or attacking your enemy underground forces. No matter which mission you play you will be expecting something different. There are a total of three stages included into each of the missions with the boss being on the final stage of each mission.
The game is not too difficult to get through once you get the hang of all your moves for the character that you are using. Each character will have its own benefits just like another game, so find that one character you feel more comfortable with and then start taking on the game at your own pace. With the game not being too difficult to complete you would figure the game would get boring fast, but the game has so much unexpectedness that you will soon be hooked.
The graphical detail involved in the format of the game has been done in a side scrolling third person perspective allowing you to get a viewpoint of everything. Shadow Dancer has been designed with many great features that you will surely fall in love with the design of everything.
If you want to attempt a game that is actually different then Street Fighter, then Shadow Dancer would be the perfect recommendation for you. Its time to take on a new feel of gaming and get really involved into this game, enjoy.
