Test Drive II is an action racing arcade game where you will be attempting to run away from police as well as get first place in your race. The vehicles that you will use in this version of Test Drive will be a Ferrari F-40 and a Porsche 959.
This version of Test Drive has had more features added on to the overall design. The background is no longer just a brown rocky cliff, the scenery has been done with several different sceneries like forests and mountains.
There are also a lot of hazards throughout the races that you will have to avoid or they will do some hefty damage to your vehicle.
Instead of just having to race against the computer you now have the option to race against time. This allows the player to have several options of game play and with the option to race against time you can get a little practice before you compete against the computer. When competing against the computer you will not only be trying to beat them, you must avoid the police at the same time. Instead of just avoiding police like the previous game, you must complete the race in first to actually win the race.
The graphical appeal of the game has been
done with your regular arcade two-dimensional design. You will view the game from a first person perspective allowing you to see everything that is on the other side of the windshield. As well when you reach points such as the gas stations you will have a side view of your vehicle and the store locations. With the additional backgrounds that have been included into the overall game play this allows the player to get a better feel of the location of the game and what obstacles may lie ahead.
The difficulty level of the game can be of your choice for game play. You have the option to play the game at the levels of easy to hard. The difficulty level will change the actual skill level of the computer player and time you have to complete the race. This does tend to get quite complicated throughout the races so it may be best to test the game out before you get to the hardest level of the game since you might find yourself losing the first few attempts.
Test Drive II has been designed to be played by all age groups. All skill levels of players can as well enjoy the game. With there only being two main tasks in the game there isn’t too much difficulty to the overall game’s plot. Test Drive II is overall a stimulating race adventure where you will be attempting to put the computer in your dust. If you love racing simulations and are looking for something a little more thrilling and difficult then Test Drive II would be a great attempt for you.
