The Great Giana Sisters is a lot of fun, in my opinion. The first time I ever played this game, I might have been five. I remember turning on the old Commodore 64, waiting for what seemed forever for the thing to load the game I was trying to play, and then sitting there, listening to the music for several minutes before actually starting the game at all.
At least twenty years later, long after the old floppy disk with this game on it died, I have been lucky enough to be able to play it again.

At least twenty years later, long after the old floppy disk with this game on it died, I have been lucky enough to be able to play it again. I will have to admit that my memory of the game was quite a bit faded, as could be expected after such a long time. In fact, about the
only thing I recalled were spikes with diamonds on them, those funny eyeball monsters and the music.
The music, ah the music. I was so upset when the old copy of this game died, not because I could no longer play it anymore, but because I could no longer hear the wonderful, wonderful Chris Hülsbeck music. This game's music is among my favourite ever, and I was very pleased to be able to hear it once again. I'm no music expert, so I would not be able to say anything about how it's scored or whatnot, I just know what I like, and I like this game's music. Even if you do not like the game itself, I would recommend listening to the music.
Anyway, the controls, at least for the version I have been running, are pretty simple to use, once you get the hang of it. But isn't that the way with any game? The levels are fairly short, but there are a lot of them. Some of them are fairly challenging, but that's always a good thing. A game's no good if it's too easy, right? I did find it got a little repetitious after a while, but I think it is pretty decent for a platformer this old and, repetitious or not, I still had fun. I'm no expert though; so don't take my word for it.
So, what else is there that I could say about the Great Giana Sisters? Pretty much, it's a lot of fun to play, or even to just sit and listen to. I would recommend it to anyone who likes old school platform games. In conclusion, it is fun to play, fun to listen to, and yeah, that's about it. But honestly, I found it more fun to listen to. The music is really great. Huzzah.
