Who Dares Wins 2 is the sequel to the original Who Dares Wins. The graphics were pretty good and realistic. The theme tune to the sequel was quite catchy too.
The objective was to work your way through each of the screens which involved killing any enemies using your gun or grenades. Your character is in blue, while the enemies are black. Many of the screens had small fortifications where enemies could hide behind and shoot at you. Other features included walls, quick sand, trains and bunkers that the enemy could hide in and would pop up to shoot at you before disappearing again.
Quick sand would kill you instantly as did falling down enemy bunkers whether they were occupied or not. On later levels enemy planes would fly over and carpet bomb the level causing wide spread devastation to any unlucky people in the way.
You could only shoot in the direction that you were facing, which was a little difficult to begin with.
Bonus points were awarded for any POW that you saved from being executed by the enemy, but you only had a short period of time before your ally was shot. Extra lives were also awarded when your score achieved certain targets. This made saving POW's fairly important as you often ran out of lives due to the size of the game.
Ammo was unlimited but every few
levels are plane would drop supplies on a parachute that would replenish your supply of grenades. The grenades were particularly useful for killing enemies hidden in fortifications or in bunkers.
When enemy is killed you looks and sounds like he is being electrocuted, which is quite funny to watch.
This game is generally suitable for all age ranges, but became a little frustrating as you only had a certain number of lives in which to progress through a large number of levels. For this reason novices may find this game difficult to complete, especially as the later levels are fairly chaotic.
Who Dares Wins is quite an addictive game and will entertain most people for quite a while. This is a fairly unheard of title, but much loved by those who owned it. I love this enjoyable game and highly recommend it to everyone/ I’m sure you’ll be impressed and delighted.
