Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 12/04/2007
Wonder Boy in Monster Land is an arcade game that is part of the Wonder boy sequels. The game has been changed from the prehistoric setting into a medieval fantasy world. The game does begin just as it had with the original Wonder Boy except you have now been equipped with a sword that is now your primary weapon for unwanted encounters.
The set up of the game has been changed now so that you are able to move anywhere on the map instead of it just being a left to right format.

The set up of the game has been changed now so that you are able to move anywhere on the map instead of it just being a left to right format. This allows you to experience the game at an entirely new level of gaming. There is now money being received every time you kill an enemy or finding

places that has coins in them. The money can be used to buy items throughout the game. Some of the items you are able to purchase are boots, armor, a shield, and many more items. With this game allowing you to make purchases you are able to better yourself physically for the game.
A large amount of the levels have a big boss type character throughout the level, which you will have to defeat to be able to get the key to exit the level. This does give an added difficulty feature to the game and pretty much make you defeat the big boss before you can continue on.
Wonder Boy in Monster Land has been considered the most difficult of all the Wonder Boy games. With the addition of the timer, which now limits how long you are able to attempt, each level definitely makes this game more difficult. The game is definitely very difficult in many aspects. If you are unable to complete the level in the time limit you will be sent back to the beginning to start over. This can get very frustrating at times, but we all know it does help out a lot.
The graphics that have been done in this game are very good. There is the great use of colors and it does resemble the arcade games in many aspects. Overall the graphics have been done with a lot of detail and color!
Wonder Boy in Monster Land is a phenomenal game. With the level of difficulty being more difficult then previous Wonder Boy games you are getting that extra hardness that is needed to make this game still enjoying. The game has been designed quite well and surely does make the Wonder Boy series a great game. If you love action adventure games with a little twist, then you’ll definitely want to play this game. Be careful though this game is very addicting.

very nice. I feel I am young again. I love this game, I use to finish it, but I lost it. Now I want to play again. I used to play wonderboy when I was 10 years old.

They sure don't make games like this anymore. Wonderboy is one of the best games of my childhood! I played for hours and hours and now I still can!

My favorite old-school game! I played it on the old Sega Master System. There are so many secrets and hidden valuables, it makes for a good repeat play.

I remember playing this game when i was young, it was so much fun and still is. It's quite easy except for the last level which is a long maze. You can collect coins and buy all this really cool stuff like winged boots which let you fly and stronger armor and swords. The graphics are pretty good and the game-play is interesting enough to occupy an entire rainy weekend, three thumbs up!
