Game Review 1 (written by Impala222088) Added on: 05/01/2007
This game is rather fun and entertaining. The graphics aren't technical breakthroughs by any means, but they're still pretty decent. All of the graphics are simplistic, but well-done in their simplicity and follow a consistent theme of insanity. There are magical wands that power-up your weapons and fruit pieces that award you points and life, it's all very cutesy. Midway through the first level, you'll undoubtedly be thinking to yourself "Hey, I've got an 8-year-old niece who would love this game! I've got to go show it to her!", but why not finish reading the review first. After you finish a level you're treated to a little story. Of course, it's in Japanese, so you won't understand the dialogue or even to whom you're speaking with, but following the theme and feel of the game you can only assume that the two girls are planning to have an avant-garde tea party somewhere in the thickest forest of non-linear thought, and then..... WHAM! Hentai! Unless you were previously briefed concerning this game, you probably weren't expecting that. Unlike the in-game graphics, in these dialogue and CG scenes the girls look to be of age, so it's either "not that bad" or "not that good" depending on your particular disposition.
The gameplay is good. The controls are obvious and responsive. You only have your gun and smart-bombs, but it really doesn't need to get any more complex than that to satisfy me. As for your gun, different power-ups change it to one of three different weapons (not counting the default weapon which you will only have for the first few seconds of the game anyway), each with three different levels of power. There are also three different kinds of missiles you can get as well, which all put together gives you a decent variety of ways to maim a big foot or giant head. You get three lives and there are no 1-up's, but you have quite a bit of health for each life which is recoverable through certain items.
All in all, Magic Polalamin is rather fun little game. So, give it a shot.

Game Review 2 (written by Carxriedmann) Added on: 05/01/2007
When I first ran into Magic Polalamin, I instantly fell in love. I loved this game very much. Everything, from the main characters, to the hardest bosses seemed to have a cute.
From a gamers standpoint, there's nothing that really sets this game apart from all other games, it was a decent game for the PC back in the day, and not much you can expect out of it. But it was decent, and that's all I really asked for.
In the terms of graphics, there's nothing really there, it is a very colorful game that makes you feel like you are right in it yourself, with all of the bright colors and whatnot, it is all just a very enjoyable experience when it comes to graphics. Of course, you should not expect anything like X-box three hundred and sixty graphics, but it does what it needs to do when it had the time to back there.
When it comes to gameplay, you fly around and shoot things, get some points power ups and new ammo.
All in all, Magic Polalamin is really fun and entertaining game with lot of colors and action.

A very good game, though annoying if you die after the first round due to the powerup system they use. The gameplay itself is excellent and challenging at higher levels, leaving a good impression of both the game itself and the graphics.
