Rear Factor Rear Factor Rear Factor
Game Review (written by Helenwheels) Added on: 08/11/2007
"Rear Factor" is not really a game as it is more of a Flash cartoon with a choose-your-own-adventure twist to it. While viewing, you are presented with three options to choose from. This happens on three occasions during the run of the cartoon. Picking one or the other doesn't affect the "story", it is merely a brief aside. Afterwards, the cartoon goes on unaffected by what choice was made.
So far, I have watched three of these cartoons in all their different permutations and find a lot to be desired. They all lack replay ability and need help in the comedy department.
Going through every variation, there are only 27 ways to watch each cartoon, which seems like a lot but isn't when the asides are only 10-15 seconds long. Without timing, my guess is each cartoon lasts maybe 4 or 5 minutes. This could be shaken up if the viewer were given options 10 or 12 times in the same cartoon. More so, if each choice actually altered the outcome of the story, like the old 80's games, Dragon's Lair or Badlands.
Also, the comedy level of each one seemed extremely juvenile at best. I hardly laughed at all while watching 3 of these (Rear Factor actually being the best of the three), which greatly hindered the replay ability of these cartoons.
All that being I did enjoy the art quite a bit, though the animation seemed a bit choppy. The styling was rougher than Japanese anime, which I liked. All spoofed celebrities were immediately recognizable to me.
Actually I was excited of this game! It’s an interesting one. Overall, I give this game 10 out of 10.
