A Dark and Stormy Entry is a great and amusing game. As long as you don’t try too hard to make sense off it that is. The plot is ... well I suppose you could say that there are two plots. The first plot is that you are a writer, seeking to write the perfect story (And hopefully make plenty of money doing it). The second plot is whatever your writer happens to come up with, based on the choices you make in the game.

Yup, you write the games plot in a choose your own adventure sort of way. Let me give you an example off the top of my head: Immediately upon opening the game you are asked to choose where you
want to set the story. Naturally it’s a multiple choice question. Depending on what you choose the story will start off there (or you can choose not to start with the setting).
How do you choose you ask? Well the controls are very simple, which is common of text based games.
You are given multiple choices at the top of the screen, all numbered one to five. To pick your setting (or anything else for that matter) you just type in the number of your choice and hit enter. And viola! A bit of text appears, and your adventure continues until you arrive at whichever ending.
Please don't misunderstand what I’m saying about the premise though. This is completely and totally a choose your own adventure text game, not an instant novel generator. Any choices you make can and will have random, surprising results.
The objective of the game, if it has one and as far as I can tell, is to get to the best ending. There are plenty, and though I haven't seen them all, the best I got went something like "The novel will practically right itself at this rate." It’s pretty easy to get that ending though, and I think that first and foremost the object is to just have fun. There are a lot of endings and plots to explore, and I think the game is designed to be like a playground. The plots themselves go all over the place, ranging from cooking a chicken to a cubic planet to just doodling on your “drawing pad”. So sit back and have some fun just messing around with it, you won’t regret it.
