A Friend Indeed is a fairly good game. It’s basically a puzzle adventure game. It's fairly easy, and takes about 10 or 15, maybe 20 minutes to complete.
The Controls: The controls are, honestly, very simple. You hold your mouse to the far left to pull up the menu. You left click to toggle through actions, such as walk, interact, look, and take. It's actually pretty easy. When you interact with objects, though, sometimes it takes a few seconds to resume the game.
The Story: The world is going to end in 30 minutes due to an asteroid hitting (but there's not a real time limit, thankfully).
You are JP, and your best friend Cosmo has a bomb shelter. So you go to his house in hopes of entering the shelter. However, he isn't there! The story is nice for such a short game, but I think more could have been achieved. The story leaves you hanging, really, and I'm not sure if there's a sequel.
The Graphics: The graphics are very pixelly, but cute. At least it's easy to tell what object is what, and the characters have expressions. The environments are quite detailed. The items you get are drawn well, too.
The Sound: The sound is average. But best of all, when you complete an important action, the game makes a cute little "ting" sound. That sound is the highlight of the
game for me.
The Puzzles: The puzzles are easy, but interesting. For example, you must break open Cosmo's car window with a tire iron. They're just very simple puzzles that you would find in a game with a modern setting.
The Interactivity: There are two different endings. Sigh... anyway, a portion of the items you need to collect are actually optional. The simply add points to your score. This is pretty impressive for a short game, in a way. A Friend Indeed is mostly linear, however.
In conclusion I want to recommend you this game! I think it’s worth playing.
