Game Review 1 (written by Chrissi) Added on: 11/14/2007
The Adventures of Robin Hood is not like the many games that have been released that are based on a movie that are normally focused mainly on the amount of action that is put into it. This game is more focused on the adventuress background instead.
The game begins with Robin being in his castle having a great time when the sheriff of Nottingham shows up and takes over the castle. Robin looses his title and lands and doesn’t know what he is going to do.

The game begins with Robin being in his castle having a great time when the sheriff of Nottingham shows up and takes over the castle. Robin looses his title and lands and doesn’t know what he is going to do. The ultimate goal of this game is take over the castle and make it yours again. You will be completing a number of missions before completing the game.
In the beginning you will have to locate some men to assist you
Adventures of Robin HoodAdventures of Robin HoodAdventures of Robin Hood
with everything, ranging from your regular travels to the unexpected encounters. To increase your popularity with the men you will have to rob the rich and give back to the poor. You will also have to try winning over main Marian and in the end kill the evil sheriff and get your rightful place back.
The game is played in a top-down view. You will see the buildings and landscape built up of layers and your characters are small sprites on the map. To move your character you will click where you want him to go or by using the arrows on your screen. The downside is that you are unable to use your cursor keys, which would have been quite more useful. To do other commands you will easily just click on the items in the left of the screen. You will be doing regular things while searching around such as getting haircuts or going to the pub. This gives the game a great realistic feel.
The Adventures of Robin Hood is quite different that most of the other games based on the story. You will be starting from scratch and have to do everything to get you where you would be in most of the other games. With this game being adventurous instead of the usual action based, it gives it a more appealing and exciting feel to the game. If you have grown up with the Robin Hood stories and don’t enjoy the usual action packed game, this game is great for you. Instead of watching it in a film you will be playing it in a game, doing all the things he had to do in the film. This game is a great adventurous game and isn’t too difficult to do so start playing.

Game Review 2 (written by Proffessorx) Added on: 10/03/2006
I really loved this game on the Amiga; it kept me playing for hours. The graphics and the AI were a little poor but it really did capture that Robin Hood feel. I found it a bit easy so spent most of the time trying different things e.g. what would happen if I stormed the castle and killed the king of if I kept killing the Norman guards would their be any left.. I can’t remember much as I still tiring to get it to work on my PC.
The characters were all cool and if you know the Robin Hood story then you could complete the game in under an hour. The best part of this game for me was the ability to disguise myself a monk and infiltrate the castle without being detected. The controls were a bit unresponsive and took some getting used too.
The charisma level vas a very good idea and depending on how you performed and treated people would alter their reaction towards you. I found that the graphics on the Amiga version were much better than the PC version. If my mates Amiga were still able to function I would gladly go out and recapture those nostalgic moments once again that I miss so much.

This is a fun little game. I was about 13 the first time I played it at school in computer lab. You start as the bad guy like Robin Hood always does and have to perform certain deeds to prove your heroism and win back the people and your castle. Like all the old games it has fun tackiness to it that you could play over and over.
