Game Review (written by Chrissi) Added on: 01/25/2008
When games are apart of a sequel you know the first game had to be amazing so of course the second one is going to be too. Alone in the Dark 2 is apart of the sequel created by Infogrames.
The plot of the game begins in 1924 on Christmas. There are two investigators checking out information on a kidnapping of poor young Grace Saunders. There will be clues leading you to this spooky old mansion that has earned the name ‘Hell’s Kitchen.
’ This has become the home of a gangster boss and his little posse. You soon discover that your partner has disappeared and now you are trying to find him too. As you continue your search you discover that your partner has been murdered. The gang has actually became a bunch of pirates spirits that were lost a sea many years ago and now you will try to save poor Grace before its too late determining why they even wanted Grace in the beginning.
As the series continued on to the second part of the series the actual horror theme diminished a large amount. Now instead of they’re being a large amount of supernatural occurrences it is now mainly just gangsters and pirates

that are not too scary at all. You’ll soon discover that you are going to be generally combating those two enemies with a Tommy gun but your enemies will be done in different colouring hoping to scare you.
With the second game you will notice that it is a lot larger then the first game apart of the series. You will now be able to travel through the gardens and a pirate ship that has been placed underneath the mansion. This allows the character to have a more adventurous feel to the game with more areas to travel throughout.
Throughout the game you will have the chance to not only control Carnby the main character, but also the young girl you are attempting to save Grace Saunders. The young girl will be unable to fight and will be captured if she is spotted so you will need to be real sneaky when you are controlling her.
Alone in the Dark 2 isn’t actually a scary game what so ever. There are some unpredictable parts that may make it suspenseful, but overall the game is just amusing trying to save this young girls life before your own is taken away from you. Take part in this great action adventure and save the life of an innocent girl, who knows it may make your day.
