Amazon: Guardians of Eden was my first. I was an avid Nintendo player, and one day my uncle decided to put this on my computer. I was instantly hooked into the world of action/adventure games on the PC.
There was no better way to start out my journey. This game has it all. You start out in your home, receiving a mysterious letter from your brother saying something has gone wrong with his field research. You then head to your workplace and start uncovering all sorts of twists and turns, and very tough puzzles.

This game can be quite frustrating. As many of the old games have in common, you have to execute each move in a certain order, sometimes time sensitive, and always say
the right thing. The puzzles in the game are very specific on how they must be solved.
The game-play itself is actually quite simple. You can maneuver your character with the arrow keys, sometimes easier. There are several different action buttons to use with the point and click. Sometimes these can be funny, the 'hand' icon, for moving or touching things, is funny when you use that on a person. Sometimes you can get some great reactions, sort of like Easter eggs, just be prepared to reap the consequences. Save often. Let me say that again, Save Often. This game will kill you so fast if you are not careful. Actually, I can't imagine finishing it without dying several times.
The sound is actually great in this game; there is some spoken dialogs, which was pretty high tech for its time. The music is very tolerable, and doesn't loop too bad to become annoying. The Graphics were amazing to me, the people looked real. Once again, this was many years ago when PC games were still in infancy. This game really made you feel like you were there.
If you are looking for a challenging, nostalgic, and all around fun game, this is for you. I give this game a perfect 10, and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in seeing how these crazy PC games we have now all got started. Good luck, and remember, save your game
