Game Review (written by Dontworry) Added on: 11/07/2006
I have always loved the batman comic book and the batman movies. I played this game in high school in my computer lab class to pass time. Batman is definitely my favorite superhero because the simple fact that he has no superpowers. I've watched about every movie and played just about almost every game I could, this being no exception.
Batman returns is based on the 1992 movie. I liked this game, most people don't and say it's a bad. It's an OK game, what can you expect from a 2D game? The storyline is lame and it does not compare to the new batman movie (2005 Batman Begins).

telling the story, you can only kill so many people before you start wondering what you goal is.
It's always cool to fight in the streets of Gothic city, kicking but and taking numbers. Like I said before, this game delivers the action, but, sometimes you feel like the only thing you are doing is going around kicking butt and getting no where. There are some parts where you have to pay a little attention but those disappeared quickly and then it is back to the running around and punching scenes. This game would have been a whole lot better if it only told you what was going on, the reason I liked it so much must be because I'm a fan of batman.
When I played I also noticed the game has some bugs, sometimes the controllers would not react and could be very frustrating at times. The only thing that really bother me the most was the bugs, that and of course the storyline, who can forget about how awful that is. Sometimes this would get me very angry, I would press a button and the character wouldn't react. I would see if I was pressing the right button and I was but the game would just not do what I wanted it to do.
So the conclusion is this game is fun if all you want to do is run around and kick butt, (ME). But if you are looking for a game that will keep your mind entertained and thinking this is not it. You are basically running around and beating up whoever comes first. From 1-10 I would have to give this game a solid 8.3, very good!
