I played Bioforge the day it came out. I paid $29.95 for it and have since played and beat it many times over.
It is an intriguing game about a mysterious character who cannot remember anything about whom he is or where he comes from. Along the way, he finds out more and more about himself until he comes to the final realization of his origin. Throughout the game, you find yourself against mind-bending puzzles, battle-smart enemies, and a dangerous terrain. Work your way to the truth!
Bioforge takes what could be a full-feature animated movie and makes it fully interactive.

Bioforge takes what could be a full-feature animated movie and makes it fully interactive. Although choppy at times, the animation is fairly good and well detailed. For the time period this game was created during, the environment
is pretty open and there is a lot of room for you to explore. But be careful! One wrong step and it’s game over.
In Bioforge, you have full control over the main character and his actions. You can choose to run from a battle or stay and fight. Your weapons include small arms fire, space ship rockets, and good old everyday fists and feet. Some enemies can dodge your attack while other can attack very quickly and powerfully. Watch your health, because as you take damage, your outward appearance starts to deteriorate and it effects your movements. For example, if your character is near death, you will be lucky to make two steps without falling over. These little details of the game make it an enjoyable play.
The voices are simply the best. Unlike countless of exaggerated dialogue in some ''movie-like'' games, or a few lines of oversimplified subtitle in a lot of RPGs, all the dialogue in the game are essential and presented very, very nicely. It makes you feel that you are actually in the environment facing all the enemies. The music is sometimes repetitive but that all comes down to taste. In a world where everyone seems to be dead there shouldn't be any exciting hard rock music. A thumb up for sound!
I was a bit disappointed when I reached the ending to BioForge. When gamer reaches this point, they will start wondering who their character is, why they were inside a prison on this planet, why they got turned into a cyborg, and did their nemesis get a taste of his own medicine. It makes me wonder if Origin has plans to make a sequel, which the story involves your character and his nemesis.
