Future Wars was an offering from Delphine (a French software company I believe) in the early 90’s. It was an excellent game for its time and I fondly remember playing it on the school’s 386’s as I didn’t even have a pc at the time!
The game is a graphical adventure game with a graphical user interface, which is reasonably simple to use and understand. It certainly beats the old text parsers which, although I personally love them, can be confusing to some people due to the game designers often not inputting enough variable responses.

The plot of Future Wars is that you begin as a lowly window cleaner on the outside of a high-rise. Your boss sticks his head
out of the window above you and gives you a mouthful of abuse, establishing the fact that he’s no good. This is so that you don’t feel inherently guilty for what you have to do to him next. You progress through several different areas as well as different time periods (past, present and future) on a quest to prevent an alien race from messing with Earth’s time-stream and unleashing havoc on the unsuspecting. I always loved the simple midi music for the game, but I may be alone in this as the people around me always seemed to complain about it… maybe you just have to be playing it yourself to enjoy it.
My only complaint about this game really is the first puzzle which had me stuck for ages originally. I mean really, how was I supposed to know that the two pixel wide red dot on the floor of the toilet was supposed to be placed in the equally tiny portal on the map in the office?! On my old CGA monitor you could hardly even see it! Thankfully, if you can get EGA colour to work you should have no problems at all playing this excellent game.
