Game Review 1 (written by Ganaratna) Added on: 11/15/2009
Gateway 2: Gateway 2: Homeworld is a fantastic game by Legend Studios and significantly exceeds the age in which it was made. The series so far is seriously underrated and this game provides no let down. The plot of humanity living on Earth in extreme over-population is catchy and provides great excitement heading into the game. It provides a lot of emotion when playing especially when I was confronted with the whole terrorist situation and so on. The puzzles in the game though I believe would be very hard for novice players, although I found them difficult to start me soon got the basic hang of them and I believe that would be the case for most people in the future.
Once you get past the first impressions the game lives up to the hype.
It has good music I must add. Extremely in depth and fitting to the gameplay and plot. Speaking of the plot it is intriguing and engrossing, also thought provoking. I first played the game on the floppy disk version and was thoroughly engrossed, so the newer version on CD- Rom really gave great pleasure in getting a game that I thought could never exceed previous expectations.
It was about time that legend gave us a game without flaw. Although, maybe a dark spot, if there is one to find, that the graphics never reach the ability it could in its time but that can be easily overlooked once engrossed

in the action.
The puzzle design is perfect with only little or no dead ends. This helps set the game pace as it is neither to fast or too slow. As tension rises you feel as if you’re playing in the game and when you have limited time to complete actions it is a great feeling.
It is an awesome game, which lives up to all hype. I’ve read the books and the plot ties in well and flaws are hard to come from. The graphics let you down, but the feeling subsides almost straight away as you engross yourself in the sci-fi brilliance of Legend's top game.

Game Review 2 (written by Brendanvio) Added on: 12/28/2007
Another old school game that will bring fond memories to those who enjoyed command-based games.
The story follows on from the original Gateway game, both based loosely on Frederick Pohl’s novel Gateway centred upon the mysterious ‘Heechee’. Gateway 2: Homeworld continues the story of the protagonist from the original Gateway game, who is living a life of idle luxury until the Artifact comes into his life.
The Artifact, a giant Heechee cruiser with a faster-than-light engine, has suddenly appeared in the Solar System and waits for contact. As a delegation is organized with you as an advisor, you are suddenly attacked by terrorists, terrorists desiring to use the Artifact to bring a mysterious race known only as ‘Assassins’ back to cleanse the Earth.
Suddenly you find yourself swept up into an adventure taking you to new worlds, expansion surrounds, and at long last face to face with the Heechee themselves.
This is an adventure of the grandest scale, encouraging good puzzle solving as well as providing an excellent story. In short, this game is definitely a unique and entertaining ride.

This is one of the best text adventures with graphics and movies and interactive bits and music I have ever played. If you want text adventure with visual aids, this is for you. If you want tricky yet rewarding puzzles, this is for you. If you want exciting storyline, this is for you. And the midi music adds such atmosphere. I recommend this game.
