Game Review (written by Jaitcus) Added on: 02/17/2007
If you’re looking for an adventure game to absorb and thrill look no further. Little Big adventure or Relentless as it is sometimes called, tells a story of a younge Quetch named "Twisen" and his quest to free the people of the planet "Twinsun". From the start of the game you learn that an evil character known as "Dr. FunFrock" has taken control of socieity and is hell bent on achieving ultimate power. Your job is to overthrow FunFrock and ultimately save the day and be a hero.

The game play itself is rather reserved in the sense that you cannot run in guns blazing and kill everything in sight nor is it a stealth game either. You control Twinsen via four modes: aggressive, athletic, discreet normal. Each mode allows Twinsen to move and act in different ways and thus allowing you the player to complete the game in a variety of different ways. As you progress you will gain more items in your inventory, one of the first weapons you get in the "Magic ball" with you can throw using ALT at enemies, other items include a Sword and even a guitar! However you'll find that most things in the game require you to solve a problem or puzzle.

There are more than 5 islands to explore and on each one you are required to help someone of find out some information.
The game as a whole is all about exploring and free lancing, and you'll find that there is no set way to go about completing it. Once you purchase a boat (about half way thru) you can pretty much go anywhere on the map which is great fun. The game is here waiting for you to play it so I implore you have a go, you won’t be disappointed.

An awesome game. The graphics were pretty good for it's time. It took a while to finish the first time and once I did I couldn't stop replaying it! Great visuals, good music and there is also a bit of humor thrown in. A really great game!

This a game I have been trying to get for seven or eight years and I have now found it. It is the best game that came out for its time.

Absolutely superb game. I played this when I was about 9 or 10 and I've always wondered why game designers can't make a game as fun as this these days. The second one is even better though.

I still consider this one of the best games of all time. Does anyone know of a different site that actually reviews games that are as inventive and captivating as this? Two thumbs up?

I've always been a fan of Little Big Adventures ever since I got my hand on the demo I've wanted the real game. For 9 years man anyone would love this.

Fantastic game, one of my favorites as a child. Don't ruin it for yourself by purchasing the 'walk throughs' though, it detracts from the fun of the game. I was never that good on graphics etc but for ease of use and navigation this game was very highly regarded

One of the best games ever! I played it a long time ago when it came out. It doesn't get enough credit.

I can't even believe that I found this game! I have had fond memories of this game since I was a boy, but what it was called eluded me and everyone I talked to. It's a very hard game to describe to someone, and I thought I would never get to play it again. I am so happy right now.

I really loved this game as a kid. Just something simple and carefree! So happy to find this online and play it again hehe. I love the graphical style and quirky music! Definitely one to play on a rainy day!

Quite a dark, scary theme for a "kid's" game, but it's beautiful and one of a kind. Would recommend for children of age 10+.

Karen_396 (11/18/2007)
A fun game with lots of mysteries. Normally I don't like shoot/fight games but this one is not only focused on this aspect. Very easy gameplay and beautiful story/landscapes.

Little Big Adventure (Box title Relentless) is game that looks like it was made for children, but this is not the case. Under the innovative elliptoid graphics is a very good platformgame/adventure with a great storyline, fantastic atmosphere and subtle details. Very few games in this genre even come close. The sequel has less platform elements than this game and is more focussed on adventure. Still, this is a game to try at least.
