Police Quest 2 pretty much follows along the same lines as the first Police Quest. Your are still Dectetive Sonny Bonds although your hair is no longer black, but blonde. Police Quest 2 can be a difficult game(like the first one) and it is recommended for new users to read a bit of any walkthrough to understand how the game works.
The graphics are the same as the first and the story line is just as good as before but not better.
The midi music is about the worst it can get to. Which is understandable for old DOS games. It is better than the first because there is no crazy driving, you simply type in “drive to…” and name your destination. You might need a map or something to actually know where you can drive to. The story is pretty much directly after the first one and you might have to play the first one to know what is going on and who the bad guy is. While playing it, you should speed it up (in the game menu) because the walking can become very slow for some. (do not speed up when you’re using your weapon against Bains or

whenever there is any action at all). It is recommended that you use words like “look around” or “look” to know what you have to do next if you are stuck. Many times it is hard to be able to recognize things because of the bad graphics even though they are important.
New easy buttons to use like "holster", "fire", "raise weapon" or "repeat" which save time. Also recommended that you save A LOT! and at different locations you never know what you could do wrong that will come back to haunt you later on. It is very easy to get stuck and not know what to do next or to go in the wrong situation without being able to go back and fix it ( adjusting gun sights, scuba-diving to name a few situations). Lots more blood in this game, and more action than the first, not really a bad or good thing. Not a very long game, but takes a while to figure everything out which can sometimes be a pain in the butt.
Over all, interesting game, very classic. Bunch of stuff to do that is not necessary to the actual plot, can be fun. No showering in this game. Not recommended for people who like action, shoot’em up games. Recommended for people who like Police Quest 1, King’s Quest, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Unlike Police Quest 1, Police Quest 2 focuses more on the work of a detective so there is no street patrol or procedures in which a uniformed street cop would need to follow. There are however forensic and evidence collections protocol which give PQ2 a different experience from its predecessor. However PQ2 does have a better storyline than PQ1 and there are more hilarious moments to boot.
