The minute I picked up this game I knew I was in for something special. I have always loved playing the adventure/rpg games that allow character development. The Quest for Glory series captured my imagination perfectly. This installment sees you wake up in a cave after choosing your character (either a new one or importing one from Quest for Glory 3), then making your way to the nearby village to interact with the people there. Graphically this was a fantastic game but it is in the story telling where it captures you and pulls you in.

The fight system is very easy to get to grips with and the story itself is told in a way that makes you personally invested
in the outcome of the game.
Quest for Glory 4 is set in the land of Mordavia where the dark one is destined to rise again. I know the premise sounds a little corny but hey, it's a fantastic game. It kept me enraptured for weeks on end. Completing the game didnt lead me to put it to one side however. Nope I completed it again with a different character class in different ways. Adventure games of this quality have seem to be lost and more thought is placed now upon high end PC graphics and less on innovative and original gameplay which hooks you from the moment the title screen appears. This game was a perfect run into the final game Quest for Glory 5: Dragon Fire.
The only criticisms I do have of this game is that it is a little buggy in places. Espcially when trying to obtain the symbol from the swamp (I warn anyone who plays this game to save very close to this part). There is a very linear plot but the game does give you a chance to diversify and achieve other objectives. The puzzles can be quite challenging. For all you would be thieves out there, the thieves guild puzzles do challenge the old grey matter.
In conclusion Quest for Glory 4 is an engaging and diverse game which has a very high replayability value , interesting plot lines, easy to use control system and is one of the best rpg/adventure games I have ever played, and believe me I hav played a lot of them. Once you play this game you will want to play the next and you will never want the series to end. Unfortunately it does, with the next game.
