A gamer could almost bet that there will be adult or hentai themes involved in Rex Nebular, simply because of the interesting title, but actually, it is pretty tame and the user is not going to have to be concerned with erotica or soft core pornography. What the user will have to deal with are challenging puzzles, a wild plot, and a mixed-up chorography in this clever adventure title.

Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender is a graphic adventure game that was released in the early nineties by Micro prose. It was the programming firm’s first attempt at creating a graphic adventure,
with Micro prose being more prone to strategies and simulations. As the virgin tour, so to speak, Rex Nebular made a great impact on the gaming community, displaying clever puzzles, a thoroughly unique story line, some decent graphics and an excellent sense of humor.
The story of Rex Nebular begins from what is actually the end. The initial scene shows the protagonist of the game, Rex Nebular demanding his payment for recovering a rare vase for his employer. Rex is a dashing but bungling space jockey bachelor who, evidently, had nothing better to do than search the galaxy for this relic. When the employer asks how difficult it was to find, Rex responds with the tale of the vase’s recovery, and so begins the adventure.
Following a lead on the location of the vase, Rex heads for an odd planet, only to find that it is missing…not the vase, the whole planet. While checking his monitor again, he is fired upon by a mysterious ship and he crash lands on the oddest planet in the solar system. Years earlier, the mechanically inclined men of the planet were waging war against the biological weapons of the planet’s females. The women won the battle, and the male gender was eradicated. Not only are there no man to perpetuate the human race, but some side effect of the weaponry has rendered the women unable to bear male children. They have, therefore, invented the cosmic gender bender a device that allows the women to switch sexes for a spell long enough to complete the task at hand. The other half has evolved into an even more intelligent group and is charged with keeping the breeders. This second half has continued to advance the population in terms of culture and technology. Much to Rex’s chagrin, they also learn that the cosmic gender bender will, in fact, bend a man to a different gender, just as it does the females of the planet. Rex will spend half the game as Rox, his female counterpart.
It’s entertaining and clever game. This is a fun game, even with its bizarre content. I highly recommend downloading this addictive game!
