Sentient is a first person action Sci-Fi thriller released some time in 1997. You begin the game as Garrit Sherova, a medic who has left his wife and children to spend the next six months aboard a giant mining colony in space. Aboard Icaurus, a revolutionary space station, you begin to meet several people in which you must interact with as the course of the game plays out. You're interactions with these people become important in the sense that if you tick them off, they are less likely to help you in accomplishing you're goals! These goals include healing the sick, making repairs the ships machinery, solving puzzles, eating cheese showering and baking cupcakes for other crew members.

These goals include healing the sick, making repairs the ships machinery, solving puzzles, eating cheese showering and baking cupcakes for other crew members. But the biggest and
most urgent goal, and initially the point of the game is to save the Icaurus from an early demise by stopping it from colliding with the sun, which if I hadn't mentioned before is what you're mining.
Some of the characters include:
The Doctor: Icaurus's best crew member and panel member on the board of regents. Her attitude is as wide as the sun!
Jurrell: The head security officer. He suspects you of being a spy and wishes to incarcerate you.
The senator: A key political figure that’s as snooty as he is stupid.
The engineers: A "not so bright" group of blue collars that hang around the lower decks.
Almost everyone you meet, not limited at all to the names listed above all have their own unique personality and disposition. which makes for an excellently diverse game play. The graphics are terrible. But please consider that this game was created at a time when we we're just on the edge of a new horizon in graphics gameplay. And given it's nature, it could be considered a pioneer of it's time.
I first played this game at thirteen and I am now twenty-three. I still remember it being a game that was hard to put down. This game is mostly aimed at puzzle solvers and thinkers. It's not meant to be an action thriller or a shooter. The corridors of the space station are enough to make anyone dizzy and the sounds, colors and shapes are reminiscent of Star Trek or Deep Space Nine. Very modern-esque, at least for it's time.
In conclusion, sentient is a great option for anyone who is ready to give their brain a tease and send their clocks running. It's just a great passtime.
