The Windham Classics are my most favourite types of games. Swiss Family Robinson, is one of the games that my family would sit down together watch the movie and then collect in the den to play the game. If you like Swiss Family Robinson, you'd possible like Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, and Below the Root.
All the Windham Classic games pretty much come with the same set up when you buy them.
They include the disk, or more than one disks some times, a map, a manual, a vocabulary list (not included in Below the root) and a blurb about the game, and how to play.

Swiss Family Robinson is set up very much like Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland,
and The Wizard of Oz though. These games are all very much the same.
When you play the game you see one picture at a time... to find out what in around you, you have to type in the text box at the bottom of the screen what it is you would like to know.
For example: if you wanted to know what is in the room or the area around you would type "look" if you wanted to move around you would type "n" for north, "s" for south, "e" for east, "w" for west, "nw" for northwest "sw" for southwest and so on. If you typed in "map" a map would show up on the screen with a blinking box, that’s where you are now, and it would fill in as you continued across.
In this game you have to first get off the ship wreck, by making a boat, then you have to sail towards the Island. When you’re on the Island you have to, find or make shelter, you have to collect food, water. You have to be careful while you search the Island... I don't know how many times I was killed by a lion or a bear because my gun wasn't loaded, or I fell into quick sand and died because I didn't have rope. When the animals died it's so funny because they end up upside down... don't forget your knife by the way... if you shoot an animal you can make meat to bring to your family for food.
And it's really important to find shelter because the rainy season comes and it will wipe you out. You'll find that there are lots of fun things you can do. It's a game that is fun for the whole family to participate in. Our family spent many hours together. And when the family was done, my friend Megan and I would have yet again another sleep over which we'd stay up until all hours of the night playing Swiss Family Robinson. Great game to play like I said, one of the family favourites.
