If you thought the TV show the Beverly Hillbillies was hilarious, and the feature film remake of the series was a rip-snorter – then get ready for even more laughs with this PC classic! Set out in the mountains where the Clampets originally resided it combines game-play aspects from both “The Sims” and “Virtual Villagers” whilst giving you a storyline to work off too.
As it is only very basic as far as graphics and image quality are concerned, it will not eat up all your hard drive space and so there will be more room for many more game downloads just like The Beverly Hillbillies!
In case you are not familiar with the story of The Beverly Hillbillies, allow me to fill you in.
This PC game follows the film narrative too, I might add – so if you’re a fan of the feature flick you’re a shoe in to conquer this gaming quest! The story takes place in the mountain ranges of the Clampets. Jed Clampet goes out hunting and when narrowly missing a jack-rabbit, strikes oil in the ground and is then awarded funds of one billion dollars. So he moves his family to Beverly Hills in California, USA - where they all face a chain of amazing events including almost being embezzled of all their money! Can you see how this game can become addictive? It may be very basic in its graphics, game play tools and image quality, but the general big picture of the game itself in its entirety
remains enjoyable.
Music, setting and characters are all very well suited and combine forces beautifully to create a wonderful PC getaway where you can travel all the way to the world of the hillbillies without even getting up from your computer. You could also achieve this by putting on the movie – but that way you don’t do anything but sit and watch, this way you are doing that plus clicking the mouse button to make the story come to life!
It is true that a game these days has to be the highest quality graphics, violence and plot line depth to be successful – but then why is it the case that if you put that up against the nostalgic games of everybody’s childhood the modern day marvels of games being produced now almost always lose?
