The Alien Trilogy is an all out First person Shooter that has you playing as Ellen Ripley from the 4 existing movies out there at the moment, barring the fourth of course (Alien Resurrection).
It was released on both the Sega Saturn and Sony Playstation respectively. This game wasn’t the biggest surprise in the world because ID software obviously and blatantly took ideas from those movies anyway and replaced the Alien space station with demons and zombies instead of Xenomorphs and face huggers of which exist in this very game.

I guess the world was waiting with baited breath for this one to get released, I remember there was talk and rumors about it from day one, but eventually Aklaim Software got there first in getting the rights to doing
this game.
The first thing that you’ll notice about this game, (From the technology at the time anyways) you’ll notice that some of the areas are richly detailed 3D environments, the controls are intuitive enough for you to guide yourself around freely enough.
The Dual Shock pad reacts to all explosions and hits from aliens respectively.
There are the odd jumpy moments when you go to an area and suddenly a little face hugger burst out from a corner somewhere. There are some meaty weapons from your standard Pistol that you start of with, from Pulse Rifles to Flamethrowers, it can really pull you in with it’s arcade style gameplay, and the premise is the same as ID Softwares classic ‘Doom’ in that your thrown into an area (and although you get some pretty basic tasks to do along the way) and basically you try to come out of that area alive. Grenades can clear large areas and explosive Barrels can be used to cunningly kill the big number of Aliens (Xenomorphs) pretty much in one go.
Your pistol can surprisingly still fire even if you run out of ammo but more slowly.
My only gripe is the map. It can be hard to follow, and in some cases you can end up going around in circles in order to find your goal (Or nearest exit). Although it plays well generally, it lacks tension and suspense, something, that Doom has as an ingredient in their own games. Die hard Alien fans only!!!
