Batman Forever: The Arcade Game from Acclaim Entertainment is a game based on a movie with the same title. In the game, Batman and his sidekick Robin must stop Two-Face and his gang along with Batman’s enemy Riddler from causing havoc in Gothic City.
As Batman (or Robin), you fight against the enemies using kicks, punches and some special combos that cause greater damage to Two-face, Riddler and their henchmen. There are also special weapons that you can use against the enemies. In the game, you move on to different stages collecting power-ups and fighting against different villains.
At the end of each stage you fight against a central character. The game play is similar to that of Street Fighter, you just move from left to right and beat out villains. At the very last stage, you must successfully beat the Riddler.
Because you are fighting off several men at a time, it’s hard to do combination attacks. You’ll most likely kick and punch from different directions and just chance upon a combo from the frantic pressing of the keys and not from a definite strategy. You can try to memorize all the combination attacks if you want but it is likely you won’t be able to use them at the right time because of the pace of the game. Honestly,
even without thinking of a strategy or a combo, you can easily defeat the enemy by being quick at the single moves.
The game can be played by one or two players and is available for Playstation and Saturn. This is a fun game, give it a try.
