Game Review (written by Adizzogg87) Added on: 11/16/2006
Bio Menace was actually one of the very first games I played on my old Pentium 486. I could not stop playing this game - it is so addictive. Even though I only had the shareware version, I replayed this game so many times. First of all, it is more fun than many first person shooter games nowadays.
The guns are so awesome in this game. You start out with a simple machine gun with only burst firing options. You can then find power-ups such as a fully automatic machine gun and even lasers, which is my personal favourite.

There are regular grenades which do explosive damage. There are also incendiary grenades which explode into flames and travel along

killing anything in their way. The monsters are also really cool. There are crazy blobs that come after you as well as strange dinosaur-looking monsters as well. The further you get, the more complex and powerful the monsters get.
The story is also really interesting. Supposedly, a scientist is performing crazy experiments which is where all these mutated creatures come from. The setting plays in perfectly with the story. The setting ranges from mostly urban areas in which you must battle your way through streets of monsters to rescue hostages to dense forests and desolate labs where you finally get to confront the scientist who has been creating all these creatures.
The levels are very well designed and balanced. There is always plenty of power ups that can be found all throughout the levels. There is also a great variety of monsters in each level. The monsters are all very unique and it is evident that time was spent in making every one have certain characteristics that, well characterize it.
Over all, Bio Menace is an excellent game for anyone to play. It is especially fun for those who love old platform games (as opposed to the not so fun recent ones) and for people who just love to kill crazy mutated monsters. This has always been one of the most memorable games that I have ever played. Apogee always made very fun and engaging games, and Bio Menace is no exception. Prepare to be delivered right into the heart of extremely fun classic games if you play Bio Menace.
