Game Review (written by Floodclaw) Added on: 12/19/2006
Ahh, BoulderDash… I remember all the years spent playing this gem of a game. A cute little puzzle/action game, with a simple plot. It took the world by storm back in 1984 when it was released by First Star. Basically, you are a miner, setting out to collect diamonds. However, boulders and other beasties stand in your way of this goal. Throughout the game, you have to dodge falling boulders, avoiding butterflies, all the while collecting diamonds and heading for the exit. As you get further on into the game, the levels get more complicated, and the diamonds and monsters more numerous.
Nowadays, this gem of a game (excuse the pun) has been converted from its old, outdated graphics with pink sand, on the Commodore 64, to an updated version on Windows, complete with tutorials. This updated version is now called Rocks ‘n’ Diamonds, instead of BoulderDash. Some new add-ons allow you to play the original levels, and some new others.

Not much more can be said about BoulderDash….except “Have fun”!
