Game Review 1 (written by Mikey30) Added on: 10/22/2006
This is a classic game that I remember with great affection from my childhood. It is one of the most addictive and fun games I have ever played. It is one of those games (as most games were back then) where gameplay was the most important element of a game, rather than graphics or complicated storylines that sometimes ruin the games of today.
The main aim of blowing bubbles to catch creatures and then burst them to clear the screen may not sound the most impressive thing in the world, but once you give it a go it hard to drag yourself away as you want to clear more and more screens and get higher each time.

Of course there are the usual bonuses

and other elements that help increase the action quota, but the fact that it is bolted to such a great and simple idea means that this game has definitely the right to be awarded a place in the top games of all time.
I recently bought a copy of this for my mobile and spent hours playing through all the levels, it certainly made the long train journeys pass by. And it certainly made the hours I devoted to it all those years ago when it first came out flood back to me with a great sense of nostalgia and pleasure.
For anyone that appreciates well thought out and addictive game play over bland but pretty games then this is one for you. It has everything a great game should have, I mean who can argue with bubble blowing dragons in the first place. But if you are adding in fun and inventive bonuses, and just plain fun platform gaming you have the recipe for a game that you will go back to again and again.
If you’re old enough to remember Bubble Booble you will understand what I mean. If not then do yourself a favour and download this NOW! It is a piece of gaming history that is as enjoyable today as it ever was. The minute you see that start screen the feeling of warmth rushes over you and the feeling that this is something special is overwhelming.
In the same vein as platformers like the original Donkey Kong this is a must own game for all. I still play it and I must admit it is a guilty pleasure to take my mobile or laptop computer (I have it on both) and sit down for an hour or two and have fun with the 5 year old inside. Get this game!!

Game Review 2 (written by Bengoodejunk) Added on: 09/21/2006
Bubble Bobble is a must play. The graphic may be considered low tier, however the game play more then meets the expectations of an early years game. The games concept is quite simple. Encase the "bad guys" in a bubble, and then jump on the bubble to pop and defeat the "bad guys." This game can be either a single player for those just interested in the game, or a two player co-op for those that just want to have fun with others.
The graphics for this game show the time period that it was released. Being in an 8-bit game, the graphics seem to give the 64+ bit generation the idea that this game will be less then fun. Do not be fooled by 8-bit graphics. This game proves time and time again that even though it lacks a great graphics capability that is seen in today’s society; games can still be fun, and more difficult, when brought back a couple years.
As the levels increase, so does the difficulty. The opponents are able to break out of the bubble and then few enter an "enraged" state enabling them to move faster then before. This is a good concept for an early based game. Also, during certain stages, you will be able to enter a secret stage that will properly take you to the true ending of this game. The method to get to that true ending will have to be discovered by you.
The controls for the games are relatively simple. One button is to jump, and the other button is to spit out a bubble. The controls are very manageable for the time period that this game was created. The controls are fluid and responsive for the time that this game was released.
The replay value of this game, in my personal opinion, is very high. With the increase in difficulty and the knowledge of a secret true ending, it can be fun to play over and over again. The game remains a true keeper for those that are just trying to view a new game, or those that have played the game and want to remember the feeling they had so many years ago.
With excellent marks in replay value, control, and graphics I would recommend this game to anybody and everybody.

Bubble Bobble rocks, brings back great gaming memories! What more do you need in a game than a dinosaur that blows bubbles at its enemies, cool!

Cool game, with a ton of levels. Two player is a must however because with only one you won't be getting very far at all.
