Burger time is a classic game originally made for the Nintendo entertainment system. The basis of the game is that you have to complete the burgers by walking across the various sections of them and causing them to fall down and reach the bottom. As each piece of a burger arrives on its designated platform, you get points. However, if it were just that much, it wouldn't be very much fun would it? If you walk across the top section of a burger, and it falls down, but another piece of the burger is already there, then a cascade effect is caused.

On some levels, five or six pieces might drop a level if you can get a good enough cascade effect.
Of course,
there are difficulties in doing this. Monsters (in the form of hot dogs, pickles, onions, etc) come out from the walls and attempt to hit you and take away lives. Most of the time you can just run away from them, but sometimes you are forced to use your pepper spray (in keeping with the food theme of the game) to freeze them in place for a short period of time. The game starts you out with five pepper sprays, and three lives, however, you earn one additional pepper spray for each level that you complete, and an extra life every time you get a designated amount of points (I think it's 10,000, but I'm not completely sure)
As players progress and become more skilled at the game, extra surprises are un-covered. Such as, if you cause a piece of a burger to fall while an opponent is chasing you, and the opponent is on top of that burger, it will fall not one, but three levels down (and cause cascades in equivalent amounts) and will give a wonderful 500 point bonus for doing so. The best that I've ever achieved was getting six enemies onto one top bun, which caused the entire burger to complete itself, and gave me a wonderful 16000 point bonus, which is basically 1.5 extra lives. There are also special items such as coffee and fries that appear every so often in the centre of the screen and are worth additional points.
Burger time is a wonderful game to play when you are bored, and is addictive in its simplicity and I loved playing it on the Nintendo entertainment system as a child. Even now that I'm older, I still continue to play it and will forever enjoy its nostalgia, simplicity, and addictively fun atmosphere!
