Cannon fodder is an older style action packed adventure game. It involves using small squads of men that you can split up into individual parties to complete different objectives. It is a more modern designed combat game that uses guns and grenades and even a rocket launcher or two to get the job done. Another good point about the game is the ease to recruit more people. You start with just the four but each mission you unlock a volley of new raw recruits to train and slay at will.

The game-play is point and click driven with the left mouse being fire and the right mouse being grenade / rocket. While a simple game it can be unbelievably addicting and hard to put down.
I personally played the game for over three months and am once again playing it now. The enemies spawn infinitely till you take out there spawn points. As for the graphics it isn't anything like modern day top price games but these aren't the type to frown on. Each soldier is given an individual name that you can easily use to identify them. Stu is obviously the best in my opinion and often times I sent him on single man assault missions to take down the enemy forces.
While the objectives given by the game are very simple to do you can easily use your imagination to spice up the action. I've challenged myself with one man to complete a mission or to not fire a single round of ammunition that isn't needed... Or simply not shoot at all! I believe anyone can have fun with this classic stress reliever like dos game. I believe that if you were to play this for only an hour it would easily hook you on it for the next two weeks.
Overall I give it a nine out of ten on pure fun ability. I give it a seven out of ten for graphics now but back then it was easily a nine or eight. As for sounds it wasn't anything memorable to say about it so I would give it a five overall. As for the controls it is quite easy to understand and figure out without the instruction book. It is primarily point and click like I had said before and these limited controls give you wide range of actions you can do. The settings for these worlds are very far reaching from desert camps to the frozen waste lands of the snowy fields. This is overall a great game that anyone can enjoy.
