I have to agree with MRHAMMET 's review of Crusader: No Regret. I also bought it new in early 1997 after playing the first version Crusader: No Remorse (1996 Game Of The Year, they even sold it at...
I still can not understand why no one has ever bothered writing a review on Crusader : No Regret.
It was the best game of its time, but sadly it lacked the properties of a good storyline. The ending was merely a waste of time, with no end sequence, or some twist in the plot.
But from the start of the game, I loved it. The entire game experience was awesome, with some excellent realism and stealth tactics.
Years after the game has been released passed, and I still play it, occasionally. I always install it on my new PC's, and it is usually the first game I install.
The entire effect of the game has grasped my imagination, seducing me into thinking that I am really the lone soldier, who wants to escape the clutches of the enemy.
Currently I am running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2, and I am having difficulty making the game capable of running on this O/S. But with a little TLC, I finally got it to work. Now, I know the
game was designed for Windows 3.1, and if you're lucky enough to get it to work, you can use Windows 95.
The best weapon I have found on the game, is the "Automatic Shotgun". It possessed enough firepower to blow almost anything to kingdom come. But still, I leave you with the thought of an old classic, one that I will remember for the rest of my days. The first game I enjoyed when I got my first PC, and one that I think requires a sequel.
Ladies and Gentleman, please give the uppermost respect to one of Origin's finest games, Crusader : No Regret.
Thank you for reading the only review on this site about an amazing game.
10.0 Presentation
The best known Semi-RPG game in 1996, Crusader : No Regret. Excellent presentation at the start, with the lasting effect of perfection.
10.0 Graphics
Excellent graphics, for me, even to this day. Seems a lot 2D, but I use my imagination and bend the visual effects, so that everything seems real, and in full 3D rendering.
10.0 Sound
The sound is amazing, with unique sound effects, from the weapons to the sounds the soldiers you kill produce.
10.0 Gameplay
The gameplay was somewhat sticky, but after a little quality time with this game, you really start to enjoy the challenges that are thrown at you.
10.0 Lasting Appeal
This is a game, like I said, I will never ever forget. It was the 3rd game I purchased, and to this day glad I spent R300-00 on this marvelous game.
